BOSS BEHIND THE BUSINESS
Andrew Jordan is the owner of Surfside Sips and he is also created of all the straws you see here!. He lives in Humboldt County, CA with his wife Sarah and two kids Ruby and Milo. He has also lived and worked as a carpenter in Humboldt County since 2001!
He got into working with glass back in 2016 when he handcrafted marbles for fun! Just last year, Andrew started to create artsy straws for his friends and they locally became a popular hit. In result to that, he started up an Etsy Shop to share his creations with everyone.
As San Francisco banned single used straws, Andrew was convinced that these glass straws would be a great alternative to disposable ones!
He knows that these glass straws COULD and WOULD be a great alternative to plastic in bars, restaurants, cafes and more!
The more informed he became about plastic waste, the more he was convinced that his straws CAN and WILL make a difference anywhere that offers a fancy drink with a straw!

PACKAGING
It’s important for me to be transparent with packaging and I know a lot of people might be curious on how these glass straws got here safely!
I received my package in recycled packaging! It’s also topped with fragile stickers to ensure that the person handling your package is handling it with care.
The glass straws were bundled up in a paper sleeve and they all arrived in one piece!
My Thoughts
I’ve tried every material of straw there is. From stainless steel, to bamboo, and even silicon. One thing I haven’t tried was glass but all that has obviously changed now!
One thing I love about these straws is that they are mostly see-through. When cleaning these, you don’t have to peak into that tiny straw hole to make sure it’s clean, because you can see through it!
When holding these straws, you can definitely feel the quality. These straws have smooth edges and it perfect for sipping anything smoothly! One thing to keep in mind is that these are still glass straws and you still need to be careful! Overall, I love this product and I recommend it to everyone.
